Projects and Customer Photos

Some of my best ideas come from my clients!  You guys are great!!!  Thinking of something unique for yourself?  Let me know and we’ll give it a try!

And Now For Something REALLY Different:

Something I did for myself….we are remodeling our cottage and I wanted something other than the boring laminated countertops.  Glad this was for myself as I learned a few lessons.

A Back Splash in KY:

My clients had a specific scene in mind this time… A weeping cherry tree.  He went so far as to send me photo-shopped files with different scenarios – which was great!  We settled on the design and off we went.  This piece took a long time….lots of detail.  It also took a long time to be installed!  But the results are FABULOUS!  I LOVE the tile ‘frame’ around the piece…it really ups the ante!

Sunflowers to Arizona:

This was a commission for a client who recently had the piece framed… I think it turned out great!  Julia says: “You did an art piece for me this year, and I promised to send you a photograph once it was framed. I so enjoy this piece of art. It hangs in my dining room where the sun shines on it every morning, really lighting up the place.”  Thanks, Julia!

Starry Night Tile Painting:

This was an experiment using the same inks I use on the copper on ceramic tiles…It went to Larry in Texas and he sent me a photo of the frame he had made.  I think it came out fabulous!

Table Top:

My newest project is a table.  I found an old metal table in the shed with a wood top which slides into a slot on the top of the table – length-wise.  (Hard to explain.)  I have the copper finished and the next step is to epoxy it…here is the new table top as it is now…another photo when it’s assembled.

Update on the table…. table is sanded and painted, copper affixed to substrate and sealed… next comes the epoxy and we’re ready to be sold!

Violla!

It turned out pretty well…a few specks of dust decided to float down..but no bugs!  Some “Highs”, but they are covered with epoxy.  This piece could be used on a covered porch, perhaps if care is taken (like coasters, and nothing scratchy)…after all, it IS art!  …and, I may add, ONE OF A KIND!

You can see the rough finish to the welding and the “open” ends here…I painted the underneath and will seal it to prevent moisture getting into the wood…

Kitchen Cabinets

This idea came from a client in Chico, California.  She ended up with seven kitchen cabinets depicting 3 seasons… This is a shot of four of the cabinets…

Back Splash:

This idea was from a client in Mass.  It was my first tangle using an epoxy-resin.

“It looks great!  Here are some pics – one with flash and one without.   We have had a lot of beautiful comments already.  It is quite the conversation piece and really wonderful to know it is one of a kind.  Thanks for everything.”

A back splash for a client in Kentucky:  Don’t have a photo of it installed yet, but this was taken right after the epoxy was poured….
The client created the scene using Photoshop and shared it with me using Dropbox.
